Guest Post: Being Real and The Policy of Truth

by Gurpreet Sihat

I’m not someone who likes to write about themselves. In fact, I loathe it. I never know what to say, and I’ve never been good talking about myself in the first place. As well as being a keen observer and listener, I’m someone who is big on actions speaking for themselves. So, when I was asked to write this, I have no hesitations admitting my very soul was filled with horror and dread.

What am I supposed to write about?

Buy my book! BOOOORING.

How do I get my ideas? ZzzZzz

What inspires you? -yawn-

It’s always the same crap, over and over. What makes someone stand out on these damn things??? I believe that is the $64k dollar question. If anyone has the answer, please enlighten me.

I guess what we CAN discuss is being REAL. Yes, books are supposed to sweep us off our feet, make us fall in love with a hero and not be accused of cheating on our significant other; we fly off to other places, and in some genres, other worlds. We escape. That’s all fine and dandy, but I tend to keep it real when I write. My female characters are real women.

No, really!

They are women I know, and I keep (mostly) to their body shape and size. Yup, that’s right, I have women in here that are curvy, and let me tell you, they kick serious bootay.

In doing this, my manager and I, were approached by CW3 Photography who offered up a curvy girl photoshoot. All of the Death’s Angels MC real life inspirations will be photographed later this year and I cannot wait to see how they will turn out.

This conversation quickly turned into the #CurvaceousMovement and #AllTheWriteCurves movement, sweeping across the social media world. And, since there has been such an interest in our event this year, we’re already planning a 2ndAnnual All The Write Curves for March 2020. All curvy women, authors who have curvaceous women (or men) in their novels, and everyone who supports the cause are welcome to join! Follow me on social media for more information and updates.

Until then, keep it real, be kind, and keep on reading until you find that perfect book boyfriend – or two… or three… or four – and then read some more! Hope to keep you all entertained and that you fall in love with the Death’s Angels MC.

If you’re lucky enough to have fallen in love with the incredible DAMC and can’t wait for the second book, don’t worry! Texas Heat, the first part in Scarlett’s Double J. Saga is out in April!
