Created in the early ears of Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s career, The Rape of Proserpina is a Baroque marble sculpture depicting the abduction of Proserpina (Persephone) by the God, Pluto (Hades). Commissioned by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the 1620s, it is now found in the Borghese Gallery, Rome.
